“The work that YCore has done for us is absolutely invaluable…I can’t speak highly enough about the team and the work they’ve done - it’s really blown me away.”

How our projects work

  • YCore finds nonprofits partners through our Project Proposal process, referrals from other organizations, or through individual outreach.

    We prioritize partners who are:

    1) Working towards social justice.
    2) Represent and are accountable to the communities they serve.
    3) Have a strong local presence and the capacity to partner with us.

  • YCore staff and alum spend 2 months scoping projects with nonprofits. During that time we get to know the nonprofit partner, understand their goals and needs, and scope out a strategic project that can be completed by YCore fellows.

  • YCore staff recruit & build teams of 4-5 young professionals to tackle each project. Every project team has 4 months to execute the project plan for their nonprofit partner. All YCore projects start with empathy interviews which help us understand stakeholder perspectives and give our fellows a chance to better understand their nonprofit partners.

  • Every YCore project ends with a handoff presentation. This is an opportunity for the project team to present the project deliverables to their nonprofit partner and celebrate the partnership & hard work!

At this time, the nonprofit and project team can decide how they would like to stay connected and if they want to continue working together.

YCore Fellows have done over 100 strategic projects with local nonprofits.

“We are so grateful for the YCore fellows. We’ve enjoyed working alongside them, because of their expertise, thought partnership and enthusiasm.
