YCore’s first Giving Circle mobilized $2,000 for Food Shift

A Giving Circle is a group of individuals with shared values who come together to decide where to give their money, time, and talent. The purpose of the Giving Circle is to build community around a practice of giving. As a group, we discussed our shared values, learned about several non-profit organizations, and collectively selected an organization that we all pooled funds for.

We had an engaging discussion with alumni from every year of YCore going back to 2016, and we raised almost $2000 for the nonprofit we chose, Food Shift (Reducing waste. Nourishing our community. Creating jobs). For folks who couldn't make it, stay tuned! We will have more events like this one soon. Email info@ycore.org if you'd like to sign up for our newsletter to get updates.

As with most YCore events, this one had both an in-person option in San Francisco and a virtual option via Zoom. The $15 ticket price went toward supporting YCore. Additionally, there was a $50 minimum donation requirement for the organization we selected as a group.
